Why is Keystone Gun Sales by appointment only?

First off, it was an arrangement with the township when the gun shop was in the approval process, but MORE importantly, it’s so we can have one-on-one time with each customer and take our time with each transaction. Some people don’t like that we are not a “walk in” shop, but once they experience it, you realize it’s not too bad. Additionally, if you give us a call any given day, if we are there, we can likely get you in that same day. All-in-all, it’s a way to ensure you’re not “just a number” at KGS.

Does Keystone Gun Sales take credit/debit cards?

Keystone Gun Sales does accept Credit/debit cards, but there is a cash (or check) discount. All prices quoted reflect the cash discount price.

What is MAP?

MAP stands for “Minimum Advertised Price”. This is a price set by the manufacturer, which is the lowest amount we can post that item for sale (for online or print advertisements). If you happen to see a MAP on an item on our website, be sure to contact us privately for the special KGS low price!

I keep seeing "allocated" when people ask about an item. What does "allocated" mean?

Allocated means that is a highly desirable item at the distributor, with not a lot of supply. However due to the volume of sales we do at KGS, we stand a good chance of getting one as soon as it does come available. Our volume output sort of pushes us to the top of the list at suppliers. Best bet is to make sure we have you, and that item, on the “wish list”.

What is the "Wish List”?

The wish list is kind of what it sounds like. We have a few distributors that we can link your name to an item, and if it becomes available, they will reach out to us. We would then reach out to you and see if you still wanted it. This is no obligation at that point for you to take the item, but you will get first shot at it. Usually wish list items are time-sensitive, so try to make sure we have your phone number.

Why does KGS's phone number show differently when they call me, than when I call them?

Long story short, we had to get a second (Phantom) phone number in order to keep the 717.249.0000 number during the move process to Newville, PA. You may notice when you receive a call from KGS, it will show up as 717.486.8919. That being said create a contact for Keystone Gun Sales and add both, so you don’t miss any of our many deals!!

Does KGS offer Gunsmith services?

Unfortunately, we do not offer any gunsmith services at this time; however, we can direct you to the capable hands of those in the business who can help you out.

Does Keystone Gun Sales take trades/ buy guns?

We do. However, we let people know up front that if they can sell it privately, you’ll likely do a little bit better.
We do this more as a convenience for our customers. We don’t really dabble in the collectibles and antiques.

What does Keystone Gun Sales charge for a transfer?

When purchasing a firearm, we charge $20.
If purchasing more than one firearm, additional firearms are $5.
Person-to-person (private) transfers: $25
Internet Transfers: $30
